Sad statistics

In Greece we have a serious problem with our demografics with more than double deaths than births during 2024 and it is not getting any better.

Many adults chose to live with their parents sometimes even forever with the current renting prices and other increased expenses.

Many have left or thinking of living the country for better money especially doctors, nurses and highly skilled workers as the respective potential earning here are very limited.

Officially we have been told this trend is in decrease but I would not rush in to attribute this to our own positive change but to the tight situation found also abroad where more and more often housing has become a distant dream and the cost of life has also spiked significantly.

Europe will continue to be an aging continent if it does not pass laws that protect equally those who rent and the real estate owners. Housing is not just a simple problem menacing the concept of a healthy family it has resulted in another form of slavery where it eats away a big part of your income and leaves you dry.

A roof over your head either with a decent rent or a decent price to become your own should not be a luxury in anyone's life it is and will always be the cornerstone of livelyhood for each generation.

I do beleive it will lead to serious social upheaval if not tackled properly and I do beleive people will soon realize when you choose not to have children because of your finances it has never been your choice, you have simply submitted to a faith of a condemned species. Had you prospered, you would gladly have chosen to have a kid or two to enrich your life and fulfill a very basic need that cannot be replaced nor by technology nor by travelling and certainly not by drugs be it psychotropic sunsatnces prescribed to keep you under control or worse recreational.
