humanitarian crisis

When I was much younger, I beleived in progress not only technological but in the way we perceive justice , human life, peace, honest living, family, authority, war and many other aspects of human activity.

I  was under the false impression we are going to liberate our souls from our deepest defects and faults. Today, I have no misconception of the sort. It has become very clear to me that profit and power are the driving forces behind our actions, unfortunately many times worsened by a twisted personality such as many of today's world leaders.

Blinded by these basic and primary instincts they act like psychopaths, ignore human life  much in the way Hitler did, who we still are tought today is an example to be avoided at all cost at schools around the world. And yet today crimes against humanity are picking all over the world and they many times go unonoticed especially when they concern anonymous immigrants, victims of trafficking, financial exploitation, forced prostitution, even killed for their organs without making the news.

Not to mention war crimes that should never take place in this day and age marking the death not only of the victims but our entire collective <<innocense >>

Are we to plead innocent being mere bystanders  ? Are protests enough to make those in power pay attention? Do we have free journalism today? I for one do not beleive we are heading in the right direction and by ignoring what is going on today on earth we silently play russian roulette and one of these days we could end up finding the bullet or it will find us.
