Lithium batteries

We were told that electric vehicles are to improve our air quality in Europe. What about the problems they create?

When you board your electric vehicle a ship in Greece the limit must be up to a 40% charge. These batteries can become timebombs if exposed to over 60 degrees Celcius.

In Greek weather the outside of a car reaches temperatures over  80 degrees Celcius so one can imagine the temperatures while cars are onboarding in the parking area of a ferry boat.

Apart from the obvious danger involving battery explosion and beside the short lifespan of such batteries and the cost of replacement I seriously doubt all the precautionary measures are being followed to the letter whether it involves transfer, storage , use and recycling.

Recycling facilities often report as the number one cause of fire is the lithium batteries exploding or igniting. Such fires release life threatening gases in the air that linger for up to 6 months+. More such facilities burnt again this week in Greece. There should be an investigation ordered BUT no such luck. In the name of profit lithium batteries have become weaponised and point directly at the heart of public safety for these and the next generations.

Burried in the soil their contaminants can contaminate for hundreds of years. Another <<brilliant>> EU decision that fills out Europe with super contaminants destroying the health of many generations.
