Active wild fires in Greece 26/07/2025

Wildfires are now active in several regions across Greece on July 26, 2025, with authorities on high alert due to the very extreme heat and winds. Areas in Greece  include parts of Crete, Chios Island, and various locations on the mainland such as Attica, the Peloponnese, and Evrytania.

Unfortunately, many houses have again been burnt to the ground but let us hope there will be no deaths reported.

Our thoughts are with the firemen who are risking their lives again under extreme conditions. One has to wonder why most of them do no enjoy a permanent work position and much better pay. 

It is a big shame to have your frontline heros work for penuts. 

Let us hope they face up to this battle again successfully and let us hope that there will come a day they will enjoy what they deserve.
